An investigation is underway following a trooper-involved shooting in Warren County where no one was injured.
According to a news release from Kentucky State Police, it happened around 2:30 p.m. after troopers responded to reports of a collision on I-165 where a male suspect, who had been involved in the crash, was allegedly trying to forcibly steal multiple vehicles.
Troopers arrived on scene and encountered 24-year-ol Gregoria Lopez of Olive Hill, who fled from the scene and into a wooded area nearby. At some point in the interaction, at least two troopers fired their agency issues weapons, though Lopez was not struck by the gunfire.
He was ultimately taken into custody and taken to a local hospital as a precaution due to a reaction to was is suspected to be an illegal substance.
The investigation is underway.
