CCHS Symphonic Band chosen to perform at KMEA conference

The Christian County High School Symphonic Band is making history, as they have been chosen to perform at the 2026 Kentucky Music Educators Professional Development Confernce.

This marks the first time in the school’s history that the CCHS symphonic band has been asked to perform, with officials calling it a tremendous honor. Only a select number of ensembles are chosen to perform from across the state, so this places the Christian County program among the top in the Commonwealth.

The performance is set to take place on February 6 at 2:15 p.m. at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville.

In a statement, band officials say they are incredibly proud of the students and staff for their dedication, passion and commitment to musical excellence, saying they’re especially excited to get this recognition in what will be the final year of the Christian County High School Colonel Band program, making it all the more meaningful.
