Two Christian Co. students attend Ky. Farm Buerau’s Institute for Future Ag. Leaders

Two Christian County students are being recognized for attending the Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Institute for Future Agricultural Leaders. 

According to a news release, Shara Peterson and Anthony Webster, both of Christian County, have now returned home from the Kentucky Farm Bureau’s institute, where a total of 83 high school students from across the Commonwealth attending the five-day leadership conference.

The conference was split into two—one took place at Murray State University, where Peterson attended, and the other at the University of Kentucky, where Webster attended.

This Institute is designed to expose high school students to college life while helping them explore the different fields of study for careers in agriculture. During the week, attendees participated in learning and leadership opportunities that allowed them to gain a better understanding of the agriculture industry, including needs and challenges, how basic and applied science is utilized in agriculture and farming, and how the political process is leveraged to develop agricultural policy.
