Resurfacing work to result in lane restrictions for I-69 in Madisonville

To complete repairs to Interstate 69 in Madisonville, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that a portion of the highway’s lanes will be restricted for resurfacing work.

Resurfacing work is set to begin Sunday at around 4 p.m. between the Fowler Road overpass and the Parkway Plaza Mall. Milling operations will start on the southbound left lane and will then continue on the northbound left lane, the southbound right lane and then the northbound right lane in that order.

Once the milling is competed, paving operation with follow in the same order. Exits and on-ramps along the closure will also be temporarily closed during the resurfacing work. Paving is expected to be completed by the end of August. The lane restrictions will be in place from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. while work is underway.
