WKSF comes to a close for 2025

It was a fair that faced very hot weather and sudden downpours, but still saw just shy of 34,000 people come through the gates, ready to enjoy the Western Kentucky State Fair.

There was live music, carnival rides, pageants that covered all age groups, agriculture exhibits and contests, and the usual favorites of the Demolition Derby, Tractor and Truck pulls-even though the last night of the Mid-South Truck and Tractor pulls had to be cancelled due to a Flash Flood that struck Saturday afternoon-go-kart racing, UCW Wrestling and more.

There was also a lot of new attractions, including a Hot Dog Eating Contest, a dance party, Draft Horse and Pony Pulls and a Quiet Midway event, where those with sensory issues could still enjoy the fair, when normally they might not be able to.

After a short time to rest and recover, the Fair Board will undoubtedly start the process for preparing for 2026’s fair, and anyone wanting to help out in that endeavor can go online to westernkentuckystatefair.org.
