The weekend brings Mid-South Truck and Tractor pulls, wrestling, tournaments to the WKSF

The Western Kentucky State Fair is starting to get into its last nights, and you’ll be able to hear the sounds of tractor pulling to close out a week of fun, food and fellowship.

The Mid-South Truck and Tractor Pulls will take over the grandstands at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights, and they’ll run until the competitions are done in the different weight classes—Fair Board Chair Kent Boyd says it’ll be a big line up of competitors.

Boyd says the pulls typically go late into the night—or even into the morning—and it’s truly something to see the power behind these machines.

Friday also plays host to a pop-concert featuring Tyler Booth at 6 p.m. and then a Corn Hole Tournament gets underway at 7 p.m. in the air-conditioned convention center.

The petting zoo will stay open all the way through Saturday, and the gates open at 3 p.m. on Saturday, with the rides opening at 4 p.m. Folks can get free rides from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday—after that, it’s a $30 armband night from 5 p.m. until everything wraps up.

The 4-H//FFA Beef Cattle Show takes over the livestock pavilion on Saturday starting at 6 p.m.

Then, UCW Wrestling will kick off in the convention center at 7 p.m., with admission $5 per person, where people will get to see a night of performance, athleticism and character as a wide variety of wrestlers take to the stage.

Then, things will start wrapping up for the year on Saturday, and Boyd says they’ve had a strong turnout this year—just 26,000 people have made their way to the fair as of Friday morning. If you’re interested in helping out in the future, Boyd says they’re always looking for new board members.
