Tractor pulls, tournaments and concerts in store for the Western Kentucky State Fair

The Western Kentucky State Fair has brought all the fair favorites this week, from contests to live music, grandstands show and food, and the fun continues through Saturday.

Thursday is Christian County Farm Bureau Day where Farm Bureau members get in free to the fair with a coupon from 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m., and then their meeting will be at 6 p.m. in the Convention Center. Fair Board Chair Kent Boyd says they had a great turnout for Military and First Responders Day Wednesday, nearly catching them up to last year’s pace, and they were glad to do something for those local heroes.

And before you can blink, we’ll be heading into the weekend for the fair, with Friday bringing tons of FFA and 4-H Exhibits, along with the Home and Garden Exhibits, pedal pull competitions, a $25 armband night and then, the Mid-South Truck and Tractor Pulls get started in the grandstands at 7 p.m.

There will be a cornhole tournament will be in the air-conditioned convention center at 7 p.m. but before that, folks can enjoy a pop-up concert featuring Tyler Booth at the gazebo on the fairgrounds.

Boyd says don’t forget about all the delicious food options just waiting to be sampled.

They’ve also been hosting helicopter rides at the fairgrounds, which Boyd says has been a big hit. You can find a full schedule of events online at westernkentuckystatefair.org.
