Oak Grove man charged in high-speed pursuit

An Oak Grove man is now facing several charges following a vehicle-pursuit on Interstate 24 in Christian County Friday evening.

According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to I-24—along with Kentucky State Police—after receiving multiple reports of a vehicle speeding in the area. Deputies reportedly clocked a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Marsean Waddell of Oak Grove going 103 miles per hour in a 70-miles per hour speed zone.

When deputies attempted to pull over Waddell, he allegedly fled at a high rate of speed. Deputies brough the brief pursuit to an end near Exit 89.

A search of the vehicle reportedly revealed a loaded handgun and marijuana.  Waddell was taken into custody and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, speeding, reckless driving, DUI, using restricted ammunition during a felony (no shots) and possession of marijuana.
