Tennessee man facing numerous charges following Oak Grove pursuit

A Tennessee man is facing local charges after leading Oak Grove Police officers on a pursuit Saturday. 

According to the Oak Grove Police Department, officers responded to reports of a stolen vehicle near the Pilot gas station on Pembroke-Oak Grove Road at around 8:15 p.m. Saturday. That vehicle was reportedly being driven by 33-year-old Samuel Barnes of Ashland City, who had several outstanding warrants from Tennessee out for his arrest.

Officers located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, which is when Barnes fled the scene in the vehicle. During the pursuit, the vehicle became disabled and Barnes attempted to flee on foot, but he was quickly taken into custody.

Barnes is locally charged with two counts of first-degree fleeing or evading police, felony receiving stolen property, first-degree criminal mischief and giving officers false identifying information.

He was attend court in Christian County on these charges before being extradited back to Tennessee.
