The Western Kentucky State Fair is in full swing and Fair Board President Kent Boyd appeared on WHOP on Monday to share what they have in store tonight and for the rest of the week.
The fair kicked off on Friday and Boyd says attendance has been steady, but a little lower than last year which could be due to wheat harvesting season.
Gates open at 4:30 p.m. on Monday and armbands will be $25 for unlimited rides. Then at 5 p.m. the petting zoo opens back up at the Livestock Pavilion.
Boyd says the pageants over the weekend went well and at 7 p.m. Monday they will be hosting the Ms. Plus Pageant at the Convention Center. Also, at 7 p.m. will be Arenacross at the Grandstands which will include ATV and dirt bike racing.
The fun continues on Tuesday which is Pennyrile Electric Day. Boyd says Pennyrile Electric Members who show up with a fair coupon will have free admission until 6 p.m. Tuesday evening will include a dance party at the Convention Center and a 4H and FFA Rabbit and Poultry Show at the Livestock Pavilion both at 6 p.m.
Then on Wednesday, active-duty military, dependents, veterans and first responders with ID will have free admission to the fair and can get $10 armbands.
The fair runs until Saturday and Boyd invites the community to come on out to enjoy some rides, watch a show and eat some food.
