After being a part of the Hopkinsville Police Department for over a year, officers and members of the Community celebrated Paw-trol Officer and rescue dog, Bolo’s fifth birthday on Friday.
The party took over the Pardue Lane Dog Park, and HPD was out grilling hotdogs and hamburgers, other pet rescue agencies were in attendance and Bolo’s dog and human friends came to celebrate.
HPD Public Information Officer and Bolo’s Mom, Colette Marfil says Bolo was adopted in October 2023 after fostering him. Marfil says they originally wanted to start occasionally fostering dogs to give them a day out of the shelter.
Bolo was the first dog they fostered and after a day, Marfil says they decided to adopt him from the Christian County Animal Shelter.
Marfil did not expect to become a dog mom but says Bolo has been a great addition to HPD. She says he has played a big role in helping HPD connect with the community.
HPD Police Chief Jason Newby says Bolo has brought so much joy to the department and that adopting him is one of their best decisions.
Along with being celebrated Bolo received a whole lot of gifts.
