Pedestrian struck in Princeton collision, flown to Evansville hospital

A Princeton woman was flown to an Evansville hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in a vehicle versus pedestrian collision in Princeton Friday.

According to the Princeton Police Department, officers responded to Walmart for reports of a collision involving a pedestrian in the parking lot. Preliminary investigation has determined that a vehicle driven by 67-year-old Carol Hampton of Eddyville had been navigating between rows five and six, and when she attempted to turn left in front of the store, she reportedly struck a pedestrian pushing a shopping cart.

The pedestrian, identified as 78-year-old Julia Thomas of Princeton, was knocked to the ground—there were no details on her injuries.  She was transported to the helicopter pad at the Caldwell County ER and from there flown to Deaconess Midtown Hospital.
