Warren helps HCA defeat Lady Blazers in 5 innings

Madison Warren went 2-for-3 and drove in five runs to lead host Heritage Christian Academy to a 13-3 softball victory over University Heights Academy Thursday night.

The Lady Warriors scored nine runs in the bottom of the first inning taking advantage of six walks and a UHA error.

HCA added two more runs in the second for an 11-0 advantage.

UHA got on the board in the fourth inning as Emily Dilday and Brooke Hancock led off with singles and came around to score to make it 11-2.

The Lady Warriors pushed the lead to 13-2 in the bottom of the fourth as Hadlee Hayes and Kailyn Johnson scored on a single by Warren.

UHA’s final run came in the top of the fifth when Katherine Wood singled to score Kennedy Quarles.

HCA improves to 6-8 on the season and is scheduled to play Christian County Monday night in the District 8 tournament. UHA slips to 4-8 and is scheduled to play Fort Campbell in the District 8 tournament on Monday.
