Hopkinsville Police arrested 37-year-old Jamario Whitlock of Hopkinsville after he reportedly discharged a firearm at an occupied residence and fled from officers on Saturday.
Officers responded to a residence on Cooperfield Avenue for a report of shots fired. Whitlock was located near the residence and officers attempted to give him orders, but he reportedly did not comply and walked away.
Officers were eventually able to detain him and made contact with the victim who called 911. Whitlock reportedly entered the caller’s residence and exposed his genitals before pulling a firearm out of his pants and pointing it at one of the victims.
Whitlock then got into a struggle with victim over the gun which led to him being shoved out of the home. He then reportedly shot through the front door of the home.
Whitlock was also on an ankle monitor during the incident and was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, a violation of his release conditions.
Whitlock was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, first-and-second-degree indecent exposure, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, first-degree burglary, first-degree fleeing or evading police, tampering with physical evidence, violation of release conditions and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
