The Girls’ Region 2 Tennis Tournament is scheduled to get underway this afternoon at Henderson County High School, weather permitting.
According to a bracket given to WHOP on Sunday night, University Heights Academy will have a doubles team of Alyssa Grace and Emily Davis in the tournament. The Lady Blazers’ duo is scheduled to play a team from Webster County in the Round of 16.
Meanwhile, Hopkinsville has a doubles team of Eliza Renshaw and Evelyn Bangart, who are scheduled to play a second team from Webster County in the Round of 16.
In singles play today, UHA’s Allie Sandifer drew Madisonville’s Addyson Raymer. The Lady Blazers’ Stella del Valle earned a first-round bye and is scheduled to meet either Webster County’s Heron or Lyon County’s Brigit Ellsworth.
Hopkinsville’s Chiani Leek earned a first-round bye and will lay Hopkins County Central’s Elissa Adams.
The boys’ tournament is scheduled to begin Tuesday afternoon with players from UHA, Christian County, and Heritage Christian Academy represented.
