Mayfield got out to an early 11-3 lead and never looked back to defeat visiting Heritage Christian Academy 18-5 Friday night in a five-inning softball game.
Despite the loss, HCA had 12 hits. Layton Weeks had two triples and Hadlee Hayes, Madison Warren, and Ava DeJager all had two hits for the Lady Warriors, who slipped to 6-10 on the season.
Kailyn Johnson suffered the pitching loss for Heritage.
HCA is scheduled to play at University Heights Academy on Thursday.
