Cadyn Travis stole home with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning and Heritage Christian Academy defeated visiting Crittenden County 9-8 Friday night in a high school baseball game.
Travis’s run was part of a three-run frame that saw the Warriors rally from an 8-6 deficit in the final frame. Aaron Hensley and Chase Cook walked to open the inning and Travis was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Hensley scored on a passed ball and Ethan Miles singled to load the bases again.
Cook tied the game when he scored on a passed ball and Travis and Miles moved up a base. After Collin Outland was hit by a pitch to load the bases, Travis raced home with the winning run on a steal of home.
The win ended a three-game losing streak and improved the Warriors to 7-15 on the season.
Miles led HCA with a double and two singles while he drove in a pair of runs. Outland went 2-for-4 and Travis had a double and drove in a pair of runs.
HCA is scheduled to play Tuesday at Todd County Central.
