Jazzy Tejada homered three times and drove in four runs to lead the Christian County Lady Colonels to a 15-5, five-inning softball win over Caldwell County Thursday night in Princeton.
The Lady Colonels’ sophomore connected on homers in the third, fourth, and fifth innings. Tejada now has six home runs on the season. The KHSAA record for home runs in a game is four set by Butler’s Emily Williams against Fairdale in 2021 and Meade County’s Rachel Ayer against Hancock County in 2014.
The Lady Colonels broke out the bats against the Lady Tigers with 16 hits. Katie Smith also had her first career home run for Christian County, which improved to 16-12 on the season.
Jayda Turner had a pair of doubles and Alondra Rodriguez and Smith also had a double each.
Avery Adcock added a pair of singles for Christian County, which is scheduled to play Tuesday at Calloway County.
The win was a little revenge for Christian County, which fell to the Lady Tigers 7-0 last month.
