Officials with the Christian County Jail are putting out the alert on a phone scam circulating the community.
Scam phone calls are being placed to residents where the caller is posing as an employee of the Christian County Jail and telling the victim that they have a family member lodged in the Christian County Jail. Then, they begin discussing what ‘options’ the family has to pay their bond.
Jail officials say they will never contact someone over the phone about paying a person’s bond or request any financial information over the phone. Bond payments are only allowed in person.
If you get one of these calls, you are advised to hang up and never give out personal information of any kind.
