FEMA Recovery Center opens up in Christian County

A FEMA Disaster Recovery Center has opened in Christian County to offer in-person support to those who were impacted by April’s severe storms and historic flooding.

According to Kentucky Emergency Management, the center has opened up at the Murray State University Hopkinsville campus in rooms 207, 209 and 213 at 5305 Fort Campbell Boulevard. Working hours during the week are 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sundays.

FEMA representatives will be on hand to explain available assistance programs, how to apply for aid and help connect survivors with resources for their recovery needs. Those affected by flooding and storms are encouraged to apply for assistance as soon as possible and the deadline to apply is June 25.

If you go to the center, make sure you bring the right information, including a current phone number, your address at the time of the disaster, your social security number, a general list of damage and losses, along with insurance information.
