The parking lot at Jeffers’ Bend Environmental Center has gotten a much-needed expansion, thanks to the Leadership Hopkinsville-Christian County 2025 Class.
Each year, Leadership Hopkinsville-Christian County choose a project to benefit the community, and this year, they chose Jeffers Bend to focus their efforts on, and this past weekend, they completed the initial expansion of the parking lot at Jeffer’s Bend.
According to a news release, class members worked alongside community partners to move and spread gravel, paving the way for increased visitor access and improved accommodations during any of the numerous community events Jeffers’ Bend plays host to throughout the year.
Leadership member Liz Grant says, “We are especially grateful to Rogers Group for their generous gravel donation and to HWEA for their machinery and hauling support. I’m also incredibly thankful to my boss, Bill Petersen, for sending a couple of team members to lend a hand. This truly was a community effort.”
Leadership Hopkinsville-Christian County say they’re looking forward to completing additional phases of this project in the coming months.
