Salvation Army invites local youth to free summer camp

As the school year winds down, the Hopkinsville Salvation Army is inviting kiddos to free summer camp programs at Camp Paradise Valley in Burkesville Kentucky.

The camp is set to include four programs. The Elementary Camp is from June 23 to June 28 and is open to children ages 7 to 12 years old. The Teen Camp is from July 7 to July 12 and is open to children ages 13 to 17 years old.

Then for the music lovers, the Music Camp is from July 14 to July 19 and is open to children ages 7 to 17 years old and the Music Conservatory Program is from June 16 to July 12 and is open to children ages 12 to 17 years old.

Salvation Army Lieutenant Brittney Donegan says the camps are a wonderful opportunity for children to experience the joy of summer camp and to have fun while learning life lessons.

The camps are free and include meals, lodging, transportation and activities. Parents can register by calling the Salvation Army at 270-885-9633 or by visiting the nonprofit’s office at 313 East 7th St. The deadline to register is two weeks before the camp starts.
