The Christian County Lady Colonels and Trigg County Lady Wildcats had a game of who will blink first Friday night.
It was the Lady Colonels who blinked when Kady Fuller smashed a solo home run over the left field fence in the top of the fourth inning and sent Trigg to a 1-0 high school softball win over Christian County.
From there, sophomore pitcher Tember Oliver proved too tough for the Lady Colonels. She went on to strike out six and only walked one while giving up four hits on the night.
Avery Adcock was nearly as impressive for Christian County in the circle. The senior started and went four innings, striking out two and only allowing three hits. Alyssa Petterson pitched three innings of scoreless relief and only allowed two hits.
Christian County (9-6) threatened in the second inning, but the Lady Wildcats (14-5) turned a double play to end the threat.
In the fifth, Alexis Epps led off with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. However, Oliver got a strikeout and Jada Turner grounded out to end the threat.
Another double play by the Lady Wildcats in the sixth ended a Christian County chance.
Jazzy Tejada singled to open the bottom of the seventh inning but Oliver got the next three Lady Colonels in order to end the game.
Epps, Tejada, Chloe Almy, and Haley Petterson had singles for Christian County.
Lily Eagleson, Makenna Hendricks, Jayden Visingardi and Livia Breckel also had hits for the Lady Wildcats, who won their sixth straight game.
Christian County is back in action Saturday against Louisville Mercy at 9 a.m. at Marshall County. The Lady Colonels also are scheduled to play Hancock County at 11 a.m.
