Heritage Christian Academy and Warren Central played a high school softball doubleheader on Saturday at HCA.
The first game was a slugfest with the Lady Warriors prevailing 21-16 over the Dragons.
The two teams battled back-and-forth most of the game, but a 10-run fifth inning finally sealed the win for the Lady Warriors, who had 17 hits in the game.
Ava DeJager had three hits and drove in five runs to lead HCA (1-2). Meredith Watson had three hits. Presley Brewer, Madison Warren, Lily Anderson and Delaney Duncan each had a pair of hits.
In the second game, Brewer had three hits and Warren, Anderson, and DeJager each had a pair of hits but it wasn’t enough as the Dragons scored three times in the top of the seventh inning for an 11-8 win.
HCA is scheduled to play host to Dawson Springs today.
