Henderson County held Madisonville-North Hopkins to a season-low 34 points and earned its first Boys’ Region 2 Basketball Tournament championship since 1999 with a 52-34 win Tuesday night at Madisonville-North Hopkins High School.
Cooper Davenport had 14 points and Xavion Johnson added 13 to lead the Colonels (25-6) to the win.
Ryan Bryant led the Maroons (17-13) with nine points.
Henderson advances to the UK Healthcare Boys Basketball Sweet 16 to take on Region 9 winner Cooper on March 27 at Rupp Arena.
The Region 4 title game is scheduled for tonight at WKU with Bowling Green taking on Clinton County at 6 p.m.
