District 8 basketball tournament brackets set

The dates, times, and matchups for the 2025 District 8 basketball tournaments are set and the postseason will begin Monday night at Hopkinsville High School.

In a Zoom meeting this morning, the district athletic directors and coaches learned that Hopkinsville will be the top seed in the boys’ District 8 tournament based on their RPI score.

University Heights Academy will be the No. 2 seed, followed by Christian County at No. 3. Heritage Christian Academy will be the No. 4 seed and Fort Campbell is No. 5.

The boys’ tournament will get underway on Monday night with HCA (9-17) taking on Fort Campbell (3-23) at 5:30 p.m. The winner will play Hopkinsville (13-14) in the first semifinal contest on Tuesday night at 5:30 p.m. UHA (9-11) will play Christian County (5-21) in the second semifinal on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The boys’ championship game will be at 6 p.m. Friday night, Feb. 28.

The girls’ tournament will begin Monday night with No. 2 seed Hopkinsville (8-11) taking on No. 3 Fort Campbell (7-11) at 7 p.m.

The winner will play top seed Christian County (16-9) at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, in the championship game.

UHA does not field a girls’ basketball team and HCA withdrew from postseason play.

Tickets will be $10 each night and are cash only at the gate. Children ages 5 and under will be admitted free.
