Fort Campbell, local officials partnering to reduce motorcycle crashes

Fort Campbell and local agencies are teaming up to try and combat a troubling rise in motorcycle-related crashes and fatalities in both Tennessee and Kentucky.

According to a news release, local officials, law enforcement and safety advocates gathered together at Liberty Chapel on Fort Campbell for a Motorcycle Risk Reduction Workshop, in an effort to strengthen partnerships and hopefully develop a solution to the growing problem. 

Fort Campbell Safety officials a 35 percent increase in motorcycle-related crashes since 2023. As motorcycle-related incidents continue to rise, Fort Campbell leadership emphasizes that safety is a shared responsibility. Service members, civilians, and local organizations must work together to create a safer riding environment.

Those gathered focused on three areas, including analyzing data and collectively understanding the risk, strengthening partnerships between military officials and local governmental agencies and then worked to develop solutions. By focusing on these areas, the military and local civilian leaders hope to combat recent reports from the Clarksville Police Department, Montgomery Sherriff’s Department as well as the 101st Airborne Division Safety Office, which show upward trends in mishaps since 2023.
