The Salvation Army of Hopkinsville ready to respond during winter weather

The Salvation Army of Hopkinsville is bracing for Friday’s winter storm, and they’re ready to respond to help those in need.

According to a news release, Lieutenants David and Brittney Donegan have worked to enhance the local Army’s ability to serve the community during emergencies by introducing a Rapid Response Unit to Hopkinsville. The vehicle, equipped with four-wheel drive, will allow the Salvation Army to reach remote and difficult-to-access areas. 

In addition to that resource, with the unit standing ready to provide supplies where needed, the operating the Center of Hope Shelter at 301 East Seventh Street, will be open from 7 pm. until 7 a.m. each day, along with the shelter at 701 South Clay Street, for as long as temperatures stay at or below 25 degrees.
