The Hopkinsville Fire Department extinguished a fire inside of a mechanic shop on Carter Street Sunday afternoon.
According to the fire department, firefighters from two stations responded to the business on Carter Street just before 2 p.m. after being notified that smoke was coming from the building.
Upon arrival, crews immediately entered the shop and located a four-door sedan that was on fire inside of the shop. Firefighters were able to quickly get the fire under control, keeping the damage to minimal smoke damage inside the building.
The vehicle however was a total loss, destroyed in the fire. No injuries were reported.
