The Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) wrapped up the 105th annual Commodity Luncheon during the organization’s meeting last week.
Held at the Galt House in Louisville, the luncheon was part of a series of traditions that celebrate the successes of Kentucky’s agriculture industry.
KFB President Eddie Melton welcomed the attendees and recognized several honorary guests, including Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell.
In a press release, KFB members highlighted their partnership with the Department of Agriculture, noting Shell as a guest who showcased the strong relationship between the organizations. Shell spotlighted the recent “Food Is Medicine” campaign and talked about the work the department is doing for the youth of Kentucky.
To conclude the luncheon, Melton introduced American Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall, who discussed key issues facing agriculture including revising the farm bill, wages, tariffs, and taxes, and stressed how these issues can shape the future of the industry.
Duvall encouraged county Farm Bureaus members by expressing the potential to become better and strive to make the KFB the premier organization in every county.
