A Hopkinsville woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision involving an intoxicated driver on Wednesday in Todd County.
According to a report from Kentucky State Police, 58-year-old Karen Hargrove of Hopkinsville was traveling westbound on Russellville Road while 60-year-old Timothy Todrank of Houston, Texas was traveling eastbound on the road.
As he was driving, Todrank reportedly crossed the median and began traveling in both lanes before striking Hargrove’s car head-on near the Goshen Road intersection. Hargrove was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Todd County Coroner.
Todrank was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a substance, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and vehicular homicide while under the influence of a substance. The investigation in ongoing.
Hargrove was a teacher at North Todd Elementary School, and had been an educator at South Christian Elementary School for many years before that.
