The Joy Closet is known for coming up with fun ways to get the community involved in their efforts and raise some funds to benefit local foster families—and that includes in their new initiative, the first ever Hopkinsville Lip Sync Battle.
Speaking with WHOP News recently, Joy Closet Hope House Manager Julia Roberts says this event will be the first of its kind in Hopkinsville, and they’re excited to see people break loose in the spirit of performance, competition, and supporting the Joy Closet cause. It all takes place January 25 at the Alhambra Theater and they’re looking for teams to battle each other—with the first on the list the Hopkinsville Fire Department versus the Hopkinsville Police Department.
She says it’s more than just mouthing along with a song—these battles will be truly epic performances.
They’re looking for teams, and right now it’s completely free to participate, but Roberts reminded that this is a fundraiser that they hope people will enjoy and donate to, in order to benefit the Joy Closet’s many programs.
They’re also looking for sponsors, and the more teams the better, so anyone looking to participate or donate can contact Joy Closet at (270) 632-1232.
