Sheriff’s Office to host neighborhood watch training

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office is preparing to host free neighborhood watch training for those who are interested in promoting public safety in their communities.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, the training will cover neighborhood watch basics, volunteer management, strategic planning, partnerships, meeting planning, strengthening security, observation skills and how to report suspicious activity.

Sheriff Tyler DeArmond says the training will empower citizens to take an active role in maintaining public safety and building safer neighborhoods.

The training is set for November 14 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 701 West 7th Street in Hopkinsville. Those interested can register by providing their name, area of residence and phone number to the sheriff’s office at admin@christiancountyso.com.
