The Todd County Board of Education has selected Mr. Gregory Russell to fill the vacant District 3 Board of Education seat.
That seat was left vacant when Dr. Kelley Groves resigned recently upon accepting a Teacher Support Specialist position in the district and on Tuesday, the board voted to appoint Russell to that position. Russell is a 1991 graduate of Todd County Central High School.
As board member, Russell says he would like to be able to shape policies that will enhance the learning experiences for all students. He says he would like to see the school district implement mental health programs that include workshops, peer support groups, and crisis intervention services.
Russell will serve in that position through the remainder of the term. The District 3 Board seat is on the November ballot, which Russell has filed to seek as a write-in candidate.
