Local police arrest man for assault, wanton endangerment

Hopkinsville Police arrested 39-year-old Sean Croney of Hopkinsville on Saturday after he allegedly pistol whipped a female victim repeatedly and discharged the firearm.

According to a report, Croney and the victim had gotten into a physical altercation and when the victim attempted to escape Croney followed. The victim told officers that when she got into her car, Croney also entered on the passenger side and went on to pistol whip her multiple times before discharging the firearm in the vehicle.

Officers reportedly found bullet holes and shell casings in the victim’s car. Officers then made contact with Croney regarding the incident and also reportedly found him to be in possession of marijuana, a digital scale and small bags.

Croney was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, trafficking in marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
