Hoptown faces must-win game at Calloway

The Hopkinsville Tigers football team is preparing for its biggest game of the year tonight when it travels to take on Calloway County in a key Class 4-A, District 1 game.

Both teams are 0-2 in district play and with six teams in the district, another loss would most likely have them on the outside looking in at the playoffs.

Hopkinsville coach Dustin Lopez said his team has to be ready for a fight tonight.

Calloway County (0-6) has not beaten the Tigers (1-5) on the field since 2020 has only won once on the field since 1994. The all-time series in favor of Hoptown, 31-6.

Kick off for tonight’s game is at 7 p.m. and air time is 6:30 p.m. on Newsradio 99.3 FM and 1230 WHOP AM.
