The Christian County Extension Office invites everyone to participate in the annual Hay Bale Trail.

The fifth annual Bale Trail is sponsored by the Christian County Extension Office and the Visitor’s Bureau, offering spectators the opportunity to enjoy decorated hay bales all across Christian County.

Mary Anne Garnett from the Extension Office says the Bale Trail serves as a fundraiser for the Christian County 4-H Club, and all proceeds from the trail will go directly back into the community to support club members as they participate in 4-H affiliated activities.

Garnett says that if you are interested in submitting a bale, there are multiple opportunities to win. Trophies will be awarded for the judges’ choice in the small, medium, and large categories, along with the people’s choice, which will be decided on the Christian County Extension Office’s Facebook page.

The hay bale creators can register by visiting the Christian County Extension Office’s website or the Christian County 4-H Facebook page. If you are interested in participating in the Bale Trail, there is a $25 donation to put you on a trail map, registration closes on September 30 and displays must be done by October 4.

To follow the Extension Office along on the trail, maps will be available on their Facebook page after October 4, showing the locations of all displayed bales.
