University Heights Academy’s Lady Blazers saw their All “A” Classic State Tournament run come to an end Saturday morning with a heartbreaking 5-4 loss to Sayre in the quarterfinal round at Louisville Assumption.
Sayre advanced to play Bishop Brossart Saturday evening. Brossart crushed Hazard 9-0.
Meanwhile, Todd County Central also lost Saturday morning in the quarterfinals. Brown defeated the Lady Rebels 10-0 and were scheduled to meet Bethlehem, who beat Martin County 5-0.
The girls’ championship is scheduled for 10 a.m. Central time on Sunday at Louisville Collegiate.
UHA slipped to 10-3 and will play host to Hopkins County Central on Monday night.
