HHS grad earns football coaching honor

Bowling Green High School football coach Mark Spader has been named Kentucky Football Coach of the Year for 2023-24 by the National Federation of State High School Assocations Coaches Association.

The high school made the announcement Thursday afternoon.

Spader is a 1985 graduate of Hopkinsville High School and played on the Tigers’ 1984 Class 3-A state runner-up squad.

He advances for consideration for Sectional Coach of the Year honors. Winners are chosen through a combination of their coaching accomplishments, as well as contributions to help grow their respective sports.
