The District 8 volleyball standings are beginning to take shape with Christian County firmly in control of the regular season top spot.
Christian County defeated visiting Hopkinsville 3-0 (25-13, 25-6, 25-20) Thursday night in Lyle Dunbar Gym to improve to 3-0 in the district. Hopkinsville slipped to 0-3 in league play.
Skylar Kirby had 14 kills and four aces to lead the Lady Colonels. Carly Armstrong and Kaidence Atwell each had four kills. Atwell also added a block and three aces.
Ashlea Russell had five aces and Shiloh Baker added four aces to help the Christian County offense.
Kyleigh Weber led Hoptown with three assists and three digs and Da’Naja Wheeler had three digs and two aces.
Abriel Surber and Saralyn Major each had a kill.
Christian County improves to 3-5 overall and will play Saturday at Adair County. Hopkinsville is now 1-5 overall and plays Hopkins County Central Monday at Tiger Gym.
