Grand jury returns indictment for assault, robbery

A Christian County Grand Jury has returned numerous indictments, including for assault and robbery.

Indicted for first-degree assault and second-degree robbery is 54-year-old Tyrone Cobb of Hopkinsville.  He is accused of causing serious physical injury to a male victim on June 21 through use of a deadly weapon—on the same day, he is accused of wantonly causing physical injury to another victim.

Indicted for complicity to first-degree assault, five counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence, first-degree criminal mischief and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon is 34-year-old Jerald Buckner of Hopkinsville

He reportedly had been in an argument with the mother of his children and when she attempted to leave with the children, Buckner allegedly struck her in the head. When she went back inside her home to call police, Buckner allegedly followed her and spit in her face. The victim said he also pulled a gun during the confrontation.

Twenty-two-year-old Deuntra Taylor of Hopkinsville was indicted for first-degree robbery—he is accused of grabbing the victim by the throat on June 20 and forcing him to the ground, where he and another suspect allegedly stole the victim’s cellphone. The victim had to be taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment.
