One hurt in Pennyrile Parkway crash

A Clarksville man was injured in a single-vehicle crash on the Pennyrile Parkway Saturday afternoon.

In the Christian County Sherriff’s Department report, it happened near the nine-mile-marker of the Parkway around 6:15 p.m. when 26-year-old Leonela Perez of Clarksville lost control of the vehicle she was operating southbound, possibly due to a mechanical failure.

The vehicle collided with the end of the guardrail, before veering into oncoming traffic and hitting another guardrail before coming to a stop.

A passenger in the vehicle who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, 52-year-old Humberto Perez, sustained injuries to his torso and was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
