The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that a road widening project on U.S. 62 also known as East Arcadia Avenue in Dawson Springs is underway.
The project will widen U.S. 62 from the Dawson Springs Board of Education to Dawson Springs City Park. The roadway will transition from two lanes to three lanes and will also have new gutters, curbs and sidewalks installed.
Paving operations on the roadway have already begun and the project is expected to be completed in May 2025.
The cabinet advises that motorists should anticipate lane restrictions and delays while work is being performed, as well as increased truck traffic.
