Police arrest Hopkinsville man for strangulation

Hopkinsville Police arrested Jeffery White of Hopkinsville on Monday for allegedly choking a victim during a verbal altercation.

According to a report from police, officers were dispatched to the Manhattan Motel for a disturbance. At the motel, officers reportedly heard an argument and someone yelling that they had been choked.

Officers questioned both White and the victim and found that the victim reportedly slammed a door which hit White. After being hit by the door, White reportedly choked them restricting their ability to breathe.

The report also states that the victim was holding their neck and attempting to clear their throat while talking with officers. White was charged with first-degree strangulation.
