Temperatures set to dip following storms on Wednesday

Although the week started with a heat advisory, the above average temperatures and humidity are set to dip by Wednesday as thunderstorms roll through.

Meteorologist Chris Noles with the National Weather Service in Paducah says, much of the region is under a heat advisory through Tuesday until stormy weather hits the area on Wednesday resulting in lower temperatures.

Noles says the storms will be coming from the north with a cold front and will hit portions of the Interstate 64 corridor starting Tuesday. However, Noles says the heat advisories in western Kentucky will most likely remain through Tuesday before storms hit the region on Wednesday.

Following the stormy weather, Noles says the lower temperatures and humidity levels will remain through the rest of week.

A chance for rain returns on Sunday and looking at next week, Noles says he expects for the cooler temperatures to stick around.
