Trigg County Public Schools has announced that Lisa Bush will serve as the new principal of Trigg County Intermediate School.
Bush began her educational career 29 years ago in Clarksville before she returned to Kentucky, teaching in Christian County for 12 years, last serving as the district’s curriculum specialist before joining Trigg County Schools in 2011. In Trigg County, she has served as a teacher, before becoming the Trigg County Intermediate Assistant Principal and District Instructional Supervisor in 2012.
Bush holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Murray State University and a master’s degree in Educational Administration. Additionally, she possesses professional certifications as a Supervisor of Instruction, Director of Pupil Personnel, and School Superintendent.
Bush says, “I will be taking the reins from Mr. Brian Futrell, who has been an outstanding leader of our school, as well as a mentor, colleague, and friend. I plan to continue his path of increasing student achievement and overall literacy for all students, preparing them to be successful citizens in whatever career path they choose. Raised on a farm where I still reside, I know the value of work ethic. Like my predecessor, I plan to encourage students to work hard and push themselves to be their very best. And hopefully those successful students will remain in Trigg County and contribute to a thriving economy in our very special community!”
