Police arrest Hopkinsville man for strangulation, assault

Hopkinsville Police arrested, 35-year-old Donnie Paige of Hopkinsville for assault and fleeing from law enforcement when his neighbors reported a domestic disturbance after they allegedly heard screaming coming from his residence on Monday.

According to a report, police responded to a residence on Sivley Road after receiving reports of a possible disturbance. At the residence, officers reportedly heard screaming and after forcing entry into the home they witnessed the victim vomiting as a result of being strangled.

Searching the home, officers found the balcony door open which Paige reportedly fled through. Paige was found walking in a field behind the residence and allegedly started to run after law enforcement commanded him to stop.

Officers apprehended Paige and he was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol and in possession of marijuana.

Paige was charged with first-degree strangulation, second-degree fleeing or evading police, possession of marijuana, fourth-degree assault and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
