A Hopkinsville man is facing a second-degree burglary charge following investigation by the Hopkinsville Police Department.
According to the police report, officers were called to investigate a suspect—identified as Kenneth Thornton of Hopkinsville—entering a home on Jan Drive after he had been trespassed from the premises. A Ring door bell camera reportedly captured Thornton going in an out of the residence on Saturday.
As he was leaving, Thornton reportedly ripped the camera off the wall and took it into some nearby woods. The door frame of the residence was damaged by the action.
On Monday, officers were called back to Jan Drive for reports that Thornton was back at the property. He was located inside of the residence and taken into custody.
He was charged with second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal trespassing.
