Officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department arrested Tyler Gernon of Hopkinsville after he reportedly fled from law enforcement as they were attempting to initiate a traffic stop on Friday.
According to a report from police, Gernon was witnessed speeding past fellow motorists in the area of Skyline Drive and Fort Campbell Boulevard. The responding officer then initiated a traffic stop after Gernon reportedly made an improper turn onto Fort Campbell Boulevard.
After the officer initiated the stop, Gernon reportedly continued traveling at a high rate of speed turning onto Patrick Avenue and then onto North Michael Street before coming to a stop in a field behind a bush.
Gernon was charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police, reckless driving and improper turning.
