Christian Fiscal Court approves resolutions, letter of intent

Christian Fiscal Court approved a couple of resolutions during Tuesday morning’s meeting and had a lengthy closed session that ended in action taken.

Before that closed session, magistrates heard details on agreement about mutual aid to nearby counties from Christian County Emergency Management Director Randy Graham, who says they responded mutual aid to both Hopkins and Caldwell Counties following the 2021 tornadoes, though they didn’t have an agreement in place at that time. He says all this documentation does is set the language of the agreement in stone.

Magistrates also approved resolution to pursue grant funding for rubber modified asphalt and from the recreational trails program.

Following a closed session, Magistrate John Bruce made a motion authorize the Christian County Judge-Executive to enter a letter of intent for making a potential acquisition of property.

Details on what that property could be or where were not discussed in the open meeting.

Christian County Regional Animal Shelter Director Melissa Goff gave the monthly report, saying that in the month of February they took in 282 animals and 235 animals were adopted from their facility.
